The Beauty of the Pear

From October 2012:

IMG_2230One of the many things I love about Autumn is the pear… Its shape, color, texture, and sweetness… there is nothing better than a ripe pear except when it is added in to my morning smoothie.

Dare I mention the abundance of phytonutrients in just one pear.

This morning was one of those perfect smoothie mornings!  I blended up:

1/2 banana

1 ripe pear

1 apple

A handful of locinato kale

A handful of alfalfa sprouts

1 date

Ground flax

1/4 C filtered water

1/2 C ice

It was delicious and sustained me through mid-morning. Cheers, and happy autumn!
